Speakeasy Voices

An Interview With the Speakeasy Voices Team

Hello and welcome to our interview. Can you tell us a little bit about what inspired you to start Speakeasy?

Sure!  We’ve been working in performing arts for almost 20 years. Throughout that time, we’ve had the pleasure of working with a variety of talented voiceover artists, and have always been impressed by their range and versatility. We started to notice that there was a real need for a reliable, high-quality voiceover agency that could provide top-notch international talent for a wide range of projects. We also kept being asked for referrals and thought we had to do something about it.  That’s what inspired us to launch Speakeasy.

What sets Speakeasy apart from other voiceover agencies?

At Speakeasy, we’re all about creating a personalised experience for our clients. We know that every project is unique, and we take the time to really understand our clients’ needs and goals. We have an extensive network of talented international voiceover artists who specialise in a wide range of styles and genres, so we can provide the perfect voice for any project. We also offer competitive pricing and exceptional customer service, so our clients can feel confident that they’re getting the best possible value.

How do you find and select the voiceover talent that you work with?

We’re always on the lookout for new talent, and we have a rigorous selection process to ensure that we’re working with the best of the best. We start by reviewing demo reels and audition tapes as a team, to get a sense of an artist’s range and abilities. We also take into account factors like reliability, professionalism, and communication skills, since those are all critical for success in this industry.

What advice do you have for aspiring voiceover artists?

First and foremost, practise, practise, practise! You can have all the natural talent in the world, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to really develop your skills as a voiceover artist. I also recommend investing in quality equipment and software, since that and having a home studio can make a huge difference in the quality of your recordings. And finally, be persistent and patient. Building a successful voiceover career takes time and effort, but if you’re passionate about what you do and willing to put in the work, you can achieve great things.
